CAN JOIN
- WHO
CAN JOIN - Membership in CFUW - Richmond is open to women who
have a post secondary education. There is also an Associate Membership for women
who support the goals of CFUW but do not have post secondary education. In
addition, a Student Membership category is available for women attending a
Canadian post secondary institution.
AFFILIATIONS
- We are members of the Canadian Federation of University Women. CFUW has 10,000 members across
Canada. There are 26 clubs in
CFUW
BC
Council. CFUW is a member of the
International Federation of University Women (IFUW), which includes 78
countries.
DUES
-
Membership dues are $90.00 per year. This amount includes fees for the
Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW). We are not a fundraising group
but we do provide scholarships to Richmond
secondary school female graduates who are going on to post secondary education.
Each year we sponsor a play at the Metro Theatre and each member is responsible
for purchasing and selling four tickets at $10.00 per ticket ($40.00).
BENEFITS
- From September to May members attend monthly general
meetings, which feature speakers on timely issues. In December and June instead
of a business meeting we enjoy a "social" evening. An informative monthly newsletter is published to communicate issues,
activities and important dates to the membership.

of wonderful friends and developed my own skills and self-confidence."
Our
club has provincial, national and international affiliation with BC Council,
CFUW and the IFUW respectively. This
provides the opportunity for members to communicate on global issues and travel
to annual meetings hosted by clubs around the province and country and to
triennial meetings of IFUW. We also enjoy exchanges with our sister club
in Anacortes, in Washington
State
.
